The Model Mama

TOYS WORTH TOTTING AROUND

MOMMYHOODTara Lawler1 Comment

As summer wraps, up I’m sure all you Modern Mamas have one final trip planned or different activities on the books to ring in these final days of S-U-M-M-E-R (moment of silence :/). All of which requires lots of advanced planning when bringing our littles, as every Mama knows. I swear, my toddler could easily be mistaken for Curious George – ha! No but seriously, in the sense that if I don’t have lots of things for him to do, he somehow finds himself in a giant mess or becomes a human wrecking ball – send help!

WE'RE STRONGER THAN WE THINK

Truly! Learning how to breathe through the pain and give yourself a pep talk - you’ll

surprise yourself with your threshold! Motherhood is the ultimate testament to this

theory. Literally, in every aspect: pregnancy, the delivery, postpartum, those sleepless

newborn nights, sleep regressions, and constant toddler negotiations. And most

recently for me, literally having to carry my 40 lbs toddler around everywhere for 4-

weeks when he broke his leg

HOW TO GET THAT PERFECT GLOW

BEAUTYTara LawlerComment

When it comes to makeup, I’m a firm believer that healthy skin is the most important piece. If your skin doesn’t look amazing, then all other make-up doesn’t really make that big of a difference. Sorry, I know that sounds harsh, but stay with me. I have all the insight on achieving that perfect GLOW in just a few steps.

ALL WHITE FRILLS FOR SUMMER

FASHIONTara LawlerComment

My favorite summertime wardrobe staple is and always will be the perfect white dress. I’m currently obsessing over this look. I love pairing this super feminine, ruffled silhouette with some more rugged accessories. It’s a balanced look for a super cool summer vibe.

A LETTER FROM ONE REAL MAMA

MOMMYHOODLindsey Smith

I want to shed light on my continuing journey of finding balance, self-love, and conquering “mom guilt.” The essence of my blog, The Model Mama, is the almost inevitable comedy that comes from my two worlds colliding — being a mother and a model.

KOMBUCHA: HEALTHY HAPPY HOUR

HEALTHY MAMALindsey Smith

My favorite way to unwind at the end of the day is with kombucha. It’s the perfect ending to a busy day - all the bubbles and a healthy boost to your immune system. Kombucha is a proven immune booster and contains tons of healthy bacteria (known as probiotics), vitamins and amino acids. So kick your feet up and indulge guilt-free.

FUNCTIONAL FASHION: MY SPRING DRESS EDIT

FASHIONLindsey Smith

I love finding comfortable, versatile dresses that transition from day to night, simply by changing your accessories. As a mom who always aims to be fun and interactive with my son, I need a dress that’s machine washable, comfortable and long enough to make sitting cross-legged on the floor appropriate. That’s why the midi dress is my current favorite.

RECIPE: MOM FUEL SMOOTHIE

HEALTHY MAMALindsey Smith

My caffeinated, vegan-protein packed smoothie recipe is the ultimate energy boost. Because let’s be real — who has time to drink coffee without the risk of it spilling all over themselves while chasing a toddler. My smoothie is full of great ingredients like spinach, berries, bananas and — for those mornings where I’m extra hungry — a little almond butter does the trick.
