YOGA SERIES: LEARNING HOW TO BREATHE
This post is all about discovering the power and the re-centering mechanism of a DEEP breath.
Let’s be real: Being a mama is hard some days more than others. It’s truly a labor of love. Motherhood means you’re constantly putting the happiness and wellbeing of your little ones above your own.
For me, in order to be the best Mama, Model, Wife and Friend, I have to allow myself time to recharge. My favorite self-care routine hands-down is Y O G A. I always leave feeling stronger, re-centered, a little taller and more focused on my mission for the day.
Honestly, I never thought I’d be a yogi. Before becoming a mom, I always thought yoga wasn’t really a workout (it was too slow!) and that if I was gonna go to the gym, I was going to make sure I left in a full-sweat drip (which actually in yoga, sometime I do). If you live in LA the classes Equinox in Marina del Rey are my favorite. That’s how I prefer to kick-start my day and I aim for at least 3x per week!
I heard this powerful mantra in class the other day that is so applicable to motherhood. It was too good to not share with y’all ...
So often we’re on the go-go, rushing from thing to thing, and exhausted from the day and everyday to follow. Before responding in a pinch, take a deep breath first. This soon becomes a habit and it has given me more strength, patience when negotiating with my strong-willed little angle;)
Just remember to BREATHE, Mamas.
I hope you know you are all INCREDIBLE. And in case no one has told you, even on your worst days, there’s a little human that thinks you’re a badass.
Where are my fellow yogis at?
